Thanksgiving is officially my favorite holiday (for the food, duh), but Valentines is probably a close second. My birthday is two days after Valentines Day, pink is my favorite color, and I love chocolate- my kind of holiday! Valentines Day was my excuse to do fun girly things in pink outfits basically the entire month, so I wanted to share a few highlights and cute outfits from the past two week!
I kicked off February by having macaroons and an americano for breakfast at Le Bon Macaroon. This little spot in downtown Ann Arbor had a sweet sophistication to it, and the macaroons were delicious!

It was the perfect escape to what turned out to be a very snowy day! Watching the snow flurries through the window was so pretty, and I’ll be back next time I need my sugar fix.

Winter coats are totally my weakness, and I could not resist this velvet puffer jacket. It feels so luxurious for a coat! I love using a more-upscale fabric for a traditional puffer coat, it is so elevated. This coat also came in leather, sherpa, and faux-fur: all such chic options! This coat isn’t the warmest option in my collection, but for anyone who lives in a part of the country where it’s not like the Arctic tundra all winter, this would be super fun to dress up any everyday outfit.

The next weekend was my first big blogger event in Michigan: a Galentines brunch in downtown Detroit. One of my friends, Tiffany, organized it at Cork and Gable, in Corktown, and it was so fun to meet my internet friends in person, and make loads of new ones too. Tiffany’s decor was adorable, and naturally when you get bloggers together, a million pictures were taken.

Sorry I look like a pirate in the picture. In my defense, the original Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Everyone wore their Valentines day best! All of the pink, red, and hearts!

I updated my usual gold stack of bracelets with a bunch of colorful pieces. They were fun to wear, and I’ve been enjoying mixing one or two of these bracelets in with my usual gold ones.

My lip color was “big bang” by Urban Decay: it’s the ultimate sparkly pink. I recommend pairing it with the matching lip liner to help it last longer, the glitter color isn’t as long-lasting on it’s own. If you want a bright, bold lip, this is the color for you!

Let’s take a quick moment of appreciation for the perfect sweatshirt: I ran across this at H&M over the holidays, they didn’t have my size, and I couldn’t find it online. Flash forward to two weeks before this event: I had an entirely different outfit planned and them bam, this sweatshirt found me again. I chopped the neckline off to balance out how oversized it is, and I just love the message! As a person who manages others for a living, I love nothing more than empowering the people who work for me to succeed: training and developing others is a huge part of my job, and I get the most satisfaction out of my job when my people have applied what I’ve taught them and are empowered to make smart choices. The same goes for the women in my life: I want nothing more than to see them all succeed in the things that bring them joy!

Hope you all have an excellent Valentines Day and spend it with someone you love!
xoxo,
Kaitlyn
