Hello Internet! I’m Kaitlyn and I’m so glad that you’re here! If you’re not my mom, or my best friend, you might be wondering how I got into this blogging thing. My blogging story begins in Indianapolis, Indiana where EVERYONE has a blog.

I moved down to Indianapolis from Metro Detroit in August of 2018 to open up a shiny new Abercrombie and Fitch store. During the process, I had no less than ten bloggers reach out to me about working together. Our home office handled all collaborations, but it opened my eyes to what these influencers were doing and how they were doing it. This blogging world wasn’t nearly as much of a thing back in Detroit. Once my store opened in November, I started to meet all of these bloggers in-person because they were shopping in my store. My go-to introduction was actually, “Hi, I know you from Instagram.” I started getting invited to influencer events at the mall, just because I worked there, and began to get to know these influencers outside of my store. People used to ask me if I was a blogger at these events, and I also had a go-to response for that one: “My hair is too short to be a blogger.” Almost every Indy blogger has long, wavy, gorgeous hair- I would get the occasional laugh with that self-deprecating joke.

In early 2019, thanks to a couple of my new influencer friends who were constantly telling me to post my outfits on the ‘gram, I realized that if they could do it, so could I. I started posting outfit pictures on Instagram, which was big change for me. For years, I posted pics of scenery, random things that made me happy, and pictures of me with friends. By the spring, I was starting to connect with other bloggers through Instagram, and become better friends with the ones that I knew in real-life. I was hanging out with other bloggers just to take outfit pictures- they were all awesome people to hang out with because we all shared the same love for fashion and were doin’ it for the ‘gram.

It wasn’t until I went to an event in the summer of 2019 when I realized that I was actually fitting in in the Indy-influencer world: I had people who I was looking forward to seeing, I saw new faces and went out of my way to get to know them, and I didn’t even care that I had short hair! It was a feeling more than anything- I came out of the event so energized and inspired by being around the other bloggers there.

Fast-forward through months of thinking about it, and over-thinking it, and this blog came to life thanks to my talented younger brother. For years, I’ve searched for a platform to share my thoughts with the world, and I’ve realized that fashion is the perfect place to start. It’s been a huge part of my life for almost twenty five years (I turn 27 in February) and I don’t see that changing any time soon. Indianapolis gave me my start, and now that I’m back living in Michigan, I’m so thankful for the blogger community that accidentally found me in Indy. I learned a lot from so many awesome women over the past year and a half, and I’m excited to take another little step into their world with this website.
If you’re still reading this, thank you! I don’t know where this little website is going to go- it could be a total flop, it could be a lot of fun, but I’m excited to share the things that make me happy with you. I’m looking forward to share my obsession with clothes, my love of makeup, and a sprinkle of my real-life with all of you.
xoxo,
Kaitlyn Alexandra
