Welcome to my Home

I’ve been spending more time than ever in my space, so I thought I’d share the things that have turned my apartment into a home and put a smile on my face.

My favorite major decor purchase is my hot pink armchairs: the first one was a present to myself (from myself) for a promotion, and I snagged the second one right before they were discontinued. I had my eyes on them for ages before I moved out on my own, they’re glam and pink and just so me! I got them from World Market, and they have these in several other neutrals and jewel tones.

This little corner has become my reading nook: you can find me curled up with a book, or working on my laptop. My footstool has a name: please call it Fru Fru. Yes, that is the name of the talking footstool in Beauty and the Beast. I like the touch of neutral against all of the bright pink. The coffee table books add a high-fashion flair, and I love to flip through them too.

Once upon a time, the Abercrombie store I was working at closed down. I snagged this mannequin from the store, and (shocker) it has a name: Barbie. With the leopard trend taking over my closet this summer, I added a pop of it to my room in my desk stool. The leopard also acts like a neutral in the very bright space.

Was it possible for me to resist this pink carpet? Absolutely not. There is a smaller pink rug in my bathroom, and I have one more in storage for when I eventually end up in a larger space. My daybed used to be my guest bed/couch, but I’ve been using it as my bed to give me more space in my current room. I have several storage boxes under my bed, and use my books to cover them up. I’ve always wanted to display my personal library, and this is a great alternative to a bookshelf. One of my girlfriends has the same Paris picture in her home, and they make us think of each other- a small way to stay connected with a friend who is far away!

In my living room, I’ve taken over this bookshelf to show off my shoes! I’ve always used my fancy shoes as decor (they don’t belong in a box), and I love to see them everyday (especially because I’m not wearing these everyday). My mom DIY’d the book stack for me, and it references everything that brings me joy.

Welcome to my bathroom, I use this lazy Susan to keep my bathroom essentials easy and accessible.

These gold hand towels came from my Grandma’s house, and I paired them with the witty washcloths for added glam. I enjoy having pieces that remind me of my friends and family.

Downsizing from a one bedroom apartment, to actually only one bedroom (I have roommates now), I have a lot of art! This was my first attempt at a gallery wall, and it ties the bathroom nicely together with my bedroom.

I have this new piece to add to the gallery wall the next time I break out my power drill (which is pink, shocker). This little shelf is my alternative to a medicine cabinet, I like to keep my most-used products out and visible.

Any decor questions, send me a message or a DM on IG!

xoxo,

Kaitlyn
